Electrical Design Project Manager

If you have experience with equipment sizing, load calculations, lighting system design, and BIM in Revit, this could be the opportunity you’re looking for. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, teachable, and willing to collaborate.

What do you need?

  • Enthusiasm to join a tight-knit team of professional engineers
  • Collaboration skills in working within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers
  • Ability to manage several projects at the same time
  • Timeliness in issuing reports
  • Knowledge of Electrical systems design and testing, building codes, energy modeling, and ability to interpret schematic designs

What qualifies you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Grand Rapids or Detroit Metro area (+willingness to commute to Royal Oak) or ability to relocate
  • 5-7  years of experience in Electrical Systems Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (preferred)
  • Desire to strengthen analytical skills in architectural and engineering design process, building systems installation, building codes, and performance and maintenance industry standards.
  • Technical writing skills
  • Perform energy savings calculations
  • Excellence in client-facing tasks
  • Revit proficiency
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

Within 3 Months You Will…

  • Put what you’ve learned to action by ramping up your workload
  • Begin working independently on electrical design engineering projects
  • Perform photometric calculations
  • Immersed in the Synergy Way of design engineering
  • Attend an ongoing construction project to learn first-hand from installation of MEP systems

Within 6-12 Months You Will…

  • Contribute to the team by continuing to master the skills of the role
  • Grow in proficiency by adding continuing education to your skill set
  • Ability to mentor an intern
